    Lieut. Col. James R MacAlpine-Downie
    Fought in the 8th Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. Died of wounds received in action in France 21st March 1918, age 40. Parents from Orangefield Co. Down

    Capt. Alex Lorn Stewart M.C. Younger of Achancone
    Fought with Gorden Highlanders. Accidentally killed on duty at Dublin 9th Sept 1919, age 27 and buried in Appin. Parents Lt. Col. Alex K and Annie Stewart.

    Lieut. John Bullough of Fasnacloich
    Fought with the 2nd Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. Presumed killed near Cambrai 25th Sept 1915

    2nd Lieut. David MacLachlan
    Fought with the Machine Gun Corps. Died of meningitis at Etaples 15th May 1917, age 22. Parents, Duncan and Agnes Flora Corson MacLachlan, Kinlochlaich Appin.

    Died of influenzal-pheumonie in Norwich War Hospital 9th Nov 1918

    Fought with the 6th Black Watch. Killed in action at Ypres 31st Jul 1917, age 31. Parents, Angus and Anne, Dallens, Appin.

    Fought with the Black Watch. Killed in action at Ypres 9th Nov 1914, age 31. Parents, Thomas and Margaret of Tayport Fife. Wife, Katherine MacGillivary.

    PTE. Andrew Frew
    1st Battalion Seaforth Highlanders. Killed in action near Neuve Chapelle 25th Feb 1915, age 31. Parents, William and Mary Frew from Ary. Wife, Janie Buchan from Isle of Coll.

    PTE James Jeffery
    Fought with the 1st Gordon Highlanders. Died from wounds in France 23rd Aug 1918.

    Driver Martin MacInnes
    Fought with the Army Service Corps. Killed in Action in France 18th Jul 1917, age 34. Parents, Angus and Margaret MacInnes, Appin House. Wife, Catherine Ann Cameron MacInnes, Achosrigan.

    Fought with the 1st Scots Guard. Killed in action at Pilken Ridge 31st Jul1917, age 24. Parent, John McIntyre, Railway Cottages Appin.

    Fought with the 2nd Battalion Seaforth Highlanders. Killed in action near Vielsey 25th Aug 1914

    Hawke Battalion R.N.D. Killed in action near Cambrai 8th Oct 1918, age 24. Parents, Mr and Mrs Neil McKinnon, of Nook Oban.

    Fought with the 7th Black Watch. Killed in action 31st Jul (or 11th Mar) 1917, age 24. Brother of Miss J MacNiven of Inverfolla, Appin.

    PTE. Angus F MacPhee
    Fought with the 8th Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. Died of wounds in France 17th May 1917, age 21. Parents, Donald and Mary MacPhee of Fasnacloich, Appin.

    PTE. Alex MacTaggart
    Fought with the 4th Royal Scots. Killed in action at Palestine 2nd Nov 1917, age 26. Parents, Coll and Ann MacTaggart, Achosrigan Appin.

    PTE Lachlan Stewart
    Fought with the Highland Light Infantry. Died of wounds at Boulogne 20th Nov 1916, age 26. Parents, Alexander and Sarah Stewart, of 2 Glencruitten Road Oban.
